The
IDEAL Metering Pumps for Today's Foam Manufacturers
MHR Incorporated has introduced three new chemical metering
pumps for use in the polyurethane foam manufacturing industry.
These chemical pumps are suitable for use on all types of polyol
blends and all types of isoyanates, available in variable or
fixed displacement.
No more converted hydraulic pumps. Only top-notch chemical pumps
that are designed for a specific use - POLYURETHANE FOAM.
MHR pumps are widely used for chemical metering on foam machines.
They have been applied with isocyanates, TDI, MDI and TDI/MDI
mixes, as well as, with polyether and polyester resins and
methylene chloride.

In
order to better meet today's environmental standards and improve
productivity, MHR has significantly improved our range of high-pressure
chemical metering pumps. These improvements overcome the process
problems associated with the environmentally-friendly blowing agents
that are increasingly being introduced.
For example, the environmental hazards associated with vaporized
isocyanate has resulted in the development of a special double shaft
seal arrangement to provide an effective, reliable and serviceable
seal, or using a magnetic drive coupler converts the pump to being
completely self contained.
The new MHR pumps, MH04, MH07 and MH20, were specifically designed
for the future when CFC's are banned and other blowing agents will
be used.
Although the main internal components remain the same, the bodies
have been redesigned to make them more useful for the foam industry.
These changes will handle the elevated pressure and limited temperatures
that the new blowing agents must demand.
The MH04 pump can be adjusted accurately from 0 - 6.0 cm3/rev, the
MH07 from 0 - 11.5 cm3/rev, and the MH20 from 0 - 33 cm3/rev. The
handwheel control incorporates a dial indicator which shows the
pump's setting at a glance.

Highlights
1. MHR rigid alignment system integrates pump and motor together
as one single unit. Alignment problems are elimated using
either MHR standard Bell housing system or MHR magnetic drive
coupler system.
2. Relocation of the inlet port to ensure fresh, cool fluid
passes over all the internal components being discharged and
to maintain a low temperature throughout the pump.
3. A 20 bar/ 290 PSI shaft seal, so that the pump can function
with a much higher internal pressure. To achieve this, twin
Teflon seals are used running on a new ceramic bush.
4. Pressure balanced control arrangements have been installed
to ensure a high metering accuracy, irrespective of the internal
pressure.
5. Leakage indicator systems and twin shaft seals are included
as standard to provide maximum operator protection. The complete
arrangement is now produced in cartridge form for easy servicing.

Affordable
Cost.
Besides reliability and efficiency, the cost of these metering pumps
is far less than other competitors. Price, long life expectancy
and ease of servicing, all make these new pumps the ideal choice
for polyurethane foam manufactures. Full technical advice and after-sales
services are available, as standard from MHR Incorporated.
